Ali, October 2009
Ali wanted a very traditional Medieval gown in purple and gold for her wedding at Tintagel in Cornwall (the legendary site of Camelot). The wedding took place in October, followed by a walk up to the ruined castle for photos, so Ali wanted an ankle-length gown that wouldn’t get in the way or get too dirty and so that she could show off her Dr. Martens!
She opted for a deep purple silk dupion lined in gold for a rich and opulent look. The beautiful Celtic silk used on the sleeves and girdle (belt) was woven to order in England by one of my wonderful suppliers in a matching purple and metallic gold which glimmered as the light caught it. |
