Kari, January 2011
“I adore my outfit. Joanna was awesome. She was prompt in getting the order done, and kept me updated about information regarding shipping.” |
Kari contacted me after seeing one of my corsets on Etsy and asked if I could make another with a matching bustle skirt and bolero jacket for her Steampunk wedding in Canada. I had only two months to make her outfit and ship it which was an exciting challenge given the extreme weather throughout December!
Kari’s corset was made from a beautiful steel blue silk, woven in England, with a pattern of chocolate brown butterflies. The full, trained skirt was made from chocolate brown silk taffeta which complemented the corset fabric. The skirt consisted of two layers with the top layer ruched up to create the bustle with additional feature panels at the back trimmed with soft chocolate lace and matching ribbon. Kari opted for the Josephine Bolero which was made up from the same silk taffeta as the skirt and trimmed with the matching lace. The lining was quilted since Kari informed me the temperature was likely to be around -10C! |
